Environmental and Sustainability Policy Statement

As a diverse and widespread organisation, we are aware of the potential impact that our operations may have on the environment and are continually assessing this with a view to minimising any effects.

The Thomas Armstrong Group is fully committed to minimising the impact of all of its operations on the environment. This commitment includes the following:

  • Using wherever possible the latest, low energy manufacturing technology
  • Operating a modern, low-emissions fleet of road vehicles and mobile plant across its sites
  • Sourcing of local raw materials, supporting local economies and jobs
  • Minimising waste produced through our processes
  • Using recycled and reclaimed materials wherever possible in our product
  • Managing our sites in accordance with an Environmental Management system such as ISO 14001
  • Continual improvement of environmental performance

Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement

This Statement sets out our organisation's commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. It is included in the organisation's staff handbook, discussed at Induction and publicised on our organisation's website.


Thomas Armstrong Group adopts a zero-tolerance approach to discrimination on any of the protected grounds in the Equality Act 2010.

Health and Safety Policy

Throughout our organisation, we promote a culture of health and safety and each location is regularly inspected and audited by safety professionals. Mechanisms are in place to react to incidents and defects and all employees are encouraged to report near misses and potential accidents waiting to happen.

We take all measures to protect the safety and well-being of visitors, contractors and neighbours and communicate our safety policy. We provide all necessary internal and external training for our employees and continually strive to improve health and safety throughout the organisation.

We are fully supportive and are signed up to the Heath & Safety Executive Strategy scheme which aims to reduce the amount of workplace related accidents and illnesses. This includes a pledge by all signed up employers to:

  • Agree to play our part in reducing the numbers of work-related deaths, injuries and ill-health in Great Britain.
  • Call on employers to put health and safety at the heart of what they do and to take a common sense approach to health and safety.
  • Commit to debunking myths around health and safety that trivialise the impact of injuries, ill health and deaths on individuals and their families.
  • Recognise the importance of health and safety in difficult economic times and the dangers of complacency.
  • Pledge to work with the Health and Safety Executive and its partners to Be Part of the Solution

Modern Slavery Statement

This statement sets out Thomas Armstrong (Holdings) Limited's actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to its business and to put in place steps that are aimed at ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in its own business and its supply chains. This statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023.


As part of our industry sectors within manufacturing and construction, we recognise that we have a responsibility to take a robust approach to slavery and human trafficking and we continue to take our responsibility very seriously during the coronavirus pandemic.

Our organisation is absolutely committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in its corporate activities, and to ensuring that its supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking.

Quality Management Policy Statement

A key to our success and longevity as a company lies in the consistency of the quality of our products and services. We recognise that quality is key to satisfying our existing customers and to attracting potentially new ones. With this in mind, we operate stringent quality control measures at all of our operations.

Through this we can:

  • Give the customer what they want and wherever possible exceed their expectations
  • Eliminate unnecessary waste; for our customers and ourselves
  • Ensure compliance with necessary regulatory standards and codes of practice
  • React quickly to any issues which may arise and rectify the problem as soon as possible

Competition Law Policy

Thomas Armstrong (Holdings) Limited has a policy of absolute compliance with competition law. Our companies and their employees strictly observe and adhere to this policy

The Board considers compliance with competition law to more than a legal requirement; it is a core value of integrity and responsibility. Our reputation and long term success are based on not only on how effectively we serve our customer and how successful we are at increasing shareholder value, but in the way we conduct our business and our competitive practices in the market place.

We want it to be unmistakably clear to the outside work and to our employees alike, that we compete fairly and lawfully; and with integrity.

Anti-Bribery Policy

One of the Company’s core values is to uphold responsible and fair business practices.

It is committed to promoting and maintaining the highest level of ethical standards in relation to all of its business activities. Its reputation for maintaining lawful business practices is of paramount importance and this Policy is designed to preserve these values.

The Company therefore has a zero-tolerance policy towards bribery and corruption and is committed to acting fairly and with integrity in all of its business dealings and relationships and implementing and enforcing effective systems to

counter bribery.
