Timber Production Operative

Flimby, Maryport

We are a leading timber engineering specialist, located at our purpose-built manufacturing site in Flimby, Maryport.  Renowned for its team of timber engineering experts, the very latest manufacturing processes, integrated supply chains and strong environmental credentials, Thomas Armstrong (Timber) Limited prides itself on achieving timber engineering excellence.


Within this role, you’ll enjoy a variety of duties ranging from the manual handling of products to operating production/manufacturing machinery. Working towards set production targets, whatever duty you’re assigned, we’ll expect you to contribute to the creation of quality products – on time and to specification – whilst following appropriate health & safety practices at all times. 


We’re looking for a reliable, quality focused individual who understands the value of the goods they are handling/producing and who always strives to meet productivity targets, with minimum wastage and delivered within set timescales. 


Numerate, literate and used to working in a team environment with hands on experience in a production environment would be preferred, although full training will be given.

This position is permanent to the right candidate. The hours of work are Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 (Friday 08:00 to 15:30), so flexibility within these hours are essential. The hourly rate will be dependent on experience and/or qualifications

Due to the expansion of our Sales Team, we are looking to recruit a highly motivated Sales Person with relevant experience to join our developing company. 

We are looking to recruit a full time, experienced, Sales Executive to manage all aspects of the sales process.  From identifying potential sales opportunities, to developing and maintaining strong customer relationships and achieving targets by actively selling out premium products to trade customers within the construction and building sectors. 

The successful candidate will need to be able to identify new business opportunities and engage with key decision makers to enable and close sales.

  • Essential proven +3 Year sales experience in a construction or related industry
  • Experience in direct sales & new business development. Proven experience of lead generation, winning new customers & targets attainment
  • We are looking for a person who wants to develop a career within the manufacturing sector and who can manage a challenging and varied role
  • Someone with a real passion for building business, plus a truly engaging, dynamic and persuasive personality, real drive and an inspiring record of success
  • Good understanding and knowledge of concrete block, aggregates and/or aerated concrete products would be highly desirable, however full product training will be given
  • You will need to be flexible as the role will require a degree of travel with customers being located in both the North East and North Yorkshire area(s)
