Windows

Classic Stormproof Timber Window FrameWe can provide high performance 'A Rated' stormproof windows to any design combination, manufactured to Secure by Design standards, single or double glazed, in various timber prefinished if required.
‍Sliding Sash Window Frame with Traditional Weights and Spiral BalancersWe offer a traditional sliding sash window frame available in hardwood or softwood with a painted or stained finish. The fully glazed, finished window is supplied complete with hardware including sash cords, lead weights, pulley wheels, security fasteners and modern spiral balancers.

Our sash window frame design includes unique gaskets and seals. Traditional style beading is fitted externally and our design incorporates shaped sash horns for the traditional period look.

MaterialAll windows are manufactured using sustainable timbers from managed forests, both in softwood and hardwood.
‍Treatment/FinishesMain sections and components are pre impregnated with double vacuum treatment and prime or base stained. A range of finishing options are available.
‍IronmongeryIs fitted to a Secure by Design standard and can be tailored to fit individual specifications.
‍
GlazingAs well as the standard double glazed units that are most commonly available in today’s market, we also offer various options of single glazing which are highly desirable in conservation areas. All specifications are in strict compliance with current building regulations

Whatever the style - Victorian, Georgian, with Bolection moulds, flat panels or raised and field we can produce a door to suit your needs in various timbers and finishes.

Complete ServiceArmstrong Joinery can provide a complete service from design to manufacture in numerous timbers, both hardwood and softwood, through to installation, and incorporating turned balustrading or square stop chamfered for the minimalist look. This also includes glass balustrades.

SpecialistAlthough we produce a high turnover of standard softwood staircases for our Construction Department, we specialise in custom designed hardwood staircases for the private individual.

Lodore Falls Hotel, Borrowdale

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Borrowdale valley for over 200 years, this rejuvenated hotel features charm aplenty.
The leading Derwentwater Hotel - Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa underwent a multi-million-pound renovation and extension.
‍
This prestigious scheme was completed in phases. Phase 1 being the demolition and groundworks. Phase 2a comprised the new function room and break-out area. Phase 2b created the new brasserie with suites above and Phase 2c involved the new build spa with suites above.

Our Bespoke Joinery Department produced this sophisticated, illuminated focal point bar within the new Brasserie of the Hotel creating a stylish, homely and comfortably chic atmosphere.

Brimstone

Brimstone is the first development of its kind in the Lake District offering boutique luxury hotel suites and rooms. The contemporary and innovative design blends seamlessly with the stunning Lakeland landscape and extensive spa and restaurant facilities on the Langdale Estate.

Our Bespoke Joinery Department provided manufacture and fitting for the 16 5-star luxury hotel bedrooms. This including oak wall panelling, bedroom furniture, staircases, cloakrooms and bespoke multimedia display cabinets. Each room was slightly different, so attention to detail was paramount.

The Coniston Inn
(Formerly The Waterhead Hotel)

Formerly the The Waterhead Hotel, The Coniston Inn has spectacular views over Coniston Water. The 24-room hotel is known for its ‘home away from home’ feel, comfortable rooms and excellent food.
‍The hotel underwent a major extension and internal refurbishment creating extra bedrooms and car parking spaces, along with an ‘open and informal’ bar and restaurant.

Within the hotel our Bespoke Joinery Department created this stunning bar with elegant features creating a perfect place to relax and socialise.

Strawberry Howe, Cockermouth

Traditional external windows and doors, manufactured to match the existing to coincide with National Heritage specification. Manufactured modern double glazed windows to match surrounding period property look.

CastleBar, Cockermouth

Internal bespoke manufacture and fix of bars, countertops and stairs to a modern contemporary design whilst keeping the history and heritage of the surrounding area.

We also have a specialist finishing team and booth, where products can be hand finished and coated to your individual specification. Varnish, wax, paint and applying specialist treatments are all options available, or we can simply hand wrap the product and deliver it to you for on-site finishing. Whatever your requirements our specialist finishing team can add the final touches to your joinery products.
