Project through to the Grand Final of LABC Buildings Excellence Awards 2018

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd are celebrating our success in winning the Best Extension or Alteration to an Existing Home category at the regional LABC Building Excellence Awards 2018 for our Lakeland Farmhouse project.

We are now through to the Grand Finals in November.  Congratulations team.

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd Shortlisted for LABC Northern Building Excellence Awards 2018

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd are thrilled to find out that we are a shortlisted finalist for the LABC Northern Building Excellence Awards 2018.

Our recently completed project at Leeming Farm is nominated in the 'Best extension or alteration to an existing home' category. The awards will take place on the 15th June 2018 and winning projects will then be shortlisted for the Grand Finals.

Lemming Farm work included the renovation of an existing farmhouse and construction of a new extension with link corridor with associated external works.

Works included:

• Piling works to existing farmhouse

• Completion renovation of existing farmhouse

• Remove part of existing roof and construct new roof to increase head height

• Construct new bespoke Green Oak timber frame extension

• Link corridor to connect existing farmhouse

• Concrete retaining walls & floor slab

• External works including reduced level excavation, services installation and landscaping works to level ground to new profile

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd. awarded project to build new dwellings in Threlkeld

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd. have been appointed as Main Contractor by Eden Property Developments Ltd. to build seven new local affordable dwellings in the village of Threlkeld.

The project involves the construction of 7 new two storey affordable rented homes on a greenfield site. The development, in the Lake District National Park at the foot of Blencathra, will consist of 2No. 3-bedroom houses, 4No. 2-bedroom houses and 1No. 1-bedroom house.  

The houses have been designed to feature traditional masonry blockwork with rendered elevations, slate roof with mock dormers and mock chimneys and feature stone porches to the front elevation. Externally each house will have a garden to the rear and parking to the front, there will also be some open space around the properties which has been grass seeded, giving the properties a spacious rural aspect.
