Concrete Blocks successfully transitions to the 2015 versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001

Thomas Armstrong (Concrete Blocks) Ltd have successfully transitioned to the latest versions of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 management systems.These latest versions are hard-won and go much further than a framework for managing quality and environmental systems. These new versions are focused on managing the business as a whole, determining business risks, assessing all processes and resources.

We are fully committed to and in support of this new approach which in the end is all about good business management; a philosophy that has kept us in business and continually evolving since 1830.

Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd are delighted to announce that we have now received the new Constructionline Gold Standard accreditation.

We have been a Constructionline member for many years and this upgrade demonstrates our continued commitment to achieving and delivering the highest standards of Health, Safety & Quality for all our clients.

To attain Gold membership suppliers must provide verified information from an extended PQQ covering Enhanced Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Equalities and Quality Management. This extended PQQ ensures that we keep pace with legislation such as Modern Slavery, Anti-Bribery and Corruption and Equal Opportunities.  Gold members must also hold a valid Health & Safety SSIP certificate.

Our Constructionline Gold accreditation provides our clients with increased confidence in our abilities and demonstrates that Thomas Armstrong (Construction) Ltd. are aligned to the uppermost government and industry standards.

IN THE NEWS: Hospice at Home West Cumbria £10k boost

Hospice at Home West Cumbria has received a total of £10,000 from two local businesses.

Thomas Armstrong (Holdings) Ltd, who previously worked closely with the charity to develop its therapy, resource and information centre at Finkle Street in Workington, has donated £5,000.

While the charity also received £5,000 from design and build contractor AVRS Systems Ltd after staff nominated the charity as the chosen cause.

Dr Robert Walker, Hospice chairman, said: “We receive support from a number of local companies and their donations are important to support the work we do across West Cumbria.

“Less than a quarter of our income comes from the NHS and the remainder needs to be raised from our fundraising activities, voluntary donations and legacies.”

David Atkinson, deputy chief executive at Thomas Armstrong, said: “We decided to support Hospice at Home West Cumbria because they are a marvellous local charity who we are proud to be associated with.”

Mo Akhmed, managing director of AVRS Systems Ltd, said: "As an organisation, we try to do as much as we can for good community causes and staff decided that Hospice at Home West Cumbria would be a fantastic local charity to support."
